FOR THE LOVE OF TEXAS 5TH ANNUAL SCENIC BIKE RIDE
A Scenic Celebration of Texas Landscapes, Communities, and Conservation
For The Love of Texas Bike Ride is a premier cycling event dedicated to celebrating the natural beauty, cultural heritage, and scenic integrity of Texas. Designed in alignment with the principles of Scenic Texas, the ride highlights the importance of preserving Texas’ iconic landscapes while promoting healthy, active lifestyles and community connection. Participants will gather at Dripping Springs Distilling, located at 5330 Bell Springs Rd., Dripping Springs, TX 78620, before setting out on thoughtfully curated routes that showcase rolling countryside, historic towns, and protected scenic corridors—reminding riders that what makes Texas beautiful is worth protecting.
The event includes a $35 registration fee per cyclist, with check-in and registration taking place from 9:30 – 10:30 AM, offering participants a welcoming start to a day of scenic exploration and community engagement.

By connecting cities with peers and experts, it ensures that Scenic Cities are not working in isolation—but as part of a statewide movement dedicated to preserving and enhancing the visual character of Texas communities. All certified Scenic Cities are invited to participate in the Leadership Network and take advantage of this collaborative forum.It was established to support and empower certified Scenic Cities through collaboration, shared expertise, and strategic engagement. This dynamic network brings together municipal leaders and professionals committed to enhancing community character, strengthening planning practices, and advancing scenic stewardship across Texas. Monthly invitations are distributed to all certified Scenic Cities, providing details on upcoming sessions, topics, and registration. Participation is simple and flexible—cities can register each month and engage in the discussions most relevant to their goals and initiatives. This open, ongoing format ensures continuous access to valuable resources, insights, and peer collaboration..

Scenic Texas Leadership Network was established for Scenic Cities to provide support, share resources, and strategies, build relationships, and strengthen municipalities. Scenic Cities meet virtually once a month to work together with partnered communities, provide program assistance and oversight, and collaborate and engage with municipalities. To do so, we formed a network that includes teams of planners, landscape architects, educators, park developers, and other municipal professionals. Join us in shaping a more beautiful Texas. Jill Amezcua is a highly experienced landscape architect and planner based in Omaha, Nebraska. She holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Oklahoma State University and has over 14 years of professional expertise in the field. A licensed landscape architect, Jill currently serves as Program Manager for the Great Streets initiative with the City of Austin, where she leads transformative streetscape improvements to enhance the pedestrian experience in downtown. Additionally, she oversees the University Neighborhood Overlay (UNO) streetscape program, focusing on the area west of the University of Texas. Prior to her current role, Jill was with Halff Associates, where she developed comprehensive park and trail plans for communities across Texas, contributing to the growth of sustainable and accessible public spaces.
