- Marketing/Communications: Students will be able to gain experience and be required to help promote the organization through community outreach efforts and the development of public relations initiatives. Students will be required to maintain all social media accounts, and assist in creating, developing, and implementing an agency marketing awareness annual plan, producing and contacting radio and TV stations for PSAs, and assist the Executive Director with all program awareness activities including promoting fundraisers, revising, creating and developing pamphlets and brochures, communicate with prospective individuals in the community to market agency programs, seek sponsorships and gain support, assistance with the development of marketing and communications strategies for the company, This intern will assist in developing the goals, strategies, and implementation plans to execute comprehensive marketing campaigns (For the Love of Texas Campaign, etc.). - I.T. Technology: The student will manage Scenic Texas’ website & assist the organization with installing and maintaining hardware and software components to the organization’s computer. She/He will also support these systems through remote access or site visits as needed by management teams within the company. Remote location, computer, phone, and internet required
- Computer Programming: The student will assist the agency with website updates and creating new website features or pages, maintain active domains, design and create software programs, train employees on new computer programs, write system instructions, debug and maintain operating systems and programs such as SALSA, WordPress, google calendar, and all other programs, managing systems performance, providing tech support, reviewing and updating existing programs, identifying and fixing defects, supporting data architecture, generating in-house software, and mitigating potential risk, Your programming skills should assist our organization in increasing efficiency and service. The individual should be meticulous and technically skilled, have good coding skills, excellent communication skills, high concentration levels, good task management, and superior problem-solving skills along with critical thinking skills. - Digital Media: The student will create content that will attract new customers and help keep existing ones engaged on various platforms. The student will help engage individuals through both current and new advertising campaigns and other current media trends. It will be important for the student to ensure Scenic Texas remains relevant, pertinent, and ready to deliver its program services. This individual will lead our marketing efforts using new media and digital tools. If you know how to creatively handle various online marketing tools like websites, podcasts, blogs, and press releases, and manage end-to-end digital projects, suggest and implement direct marketing methods to increase donations, this position will help you gain first-hand skills to broaden your skill sets. if you have some experience in digital media, and solid knowledge of photoshop, final cut pro-other media editing software, you will be successful in this position. You will work closely with others to coordinate our marketing advertising and promotional activities. Your goal will be to promote our company and increase client engagement. - Business Administration/Secretarial: The student will be responsible for administrative and clerical duties and assist with both daily tasks and long-term projects, He or she will schedule appointments, help with the program’s needs, maintain records, file reports, make calls to other businesses and individuals, coordinate with board member’s inquiries and distribute minutes. The student should be proficient in word processing, Microsoft Word, the internet, excel, PowerPoint, and all other current data software. Good typing skills, organized, good customer relations skills, friendly, dependable, good phone, and computer skills and highly organized are preferred and essential. Effective writing and oral communication are required. Remote location, computer, phone, and internet required
- Non-Profit Management/Leadership: The student will assist the Executive Director with all day-to-day operations, She or he will be responsible for assisting with planning for the organization and direction of the organization’s operations and programs, helping write grants, seeking funding sources, writing policy and procedures, serve as an assistant executive level to the Executive Director and be able to learn and help in the different areas of the organization to include but not limited to: marketing, finance, fund development, board development, program implementation, and development, seek and secure corporate sponsorship, fundraising initiatives and help support all aspects of the company.
