  • Marketing/Communications: The student will help promote Scenic Texas through community outreach and public relations initiatives. Responsibilities include managing all social media accounts, assisting with the development and implementation of an annual marketing plan, producing and contacting radio/TV stations for PSAs, and supporting program awareness activities such as fundraisers. The student will also revise and create brochures, engage with community members, seek sponsorships, and assist in developing comprehensive marketing campaigns (e.g., For the Love of Texas). Remote location, computer, phone, and internet required.
  • Information Technology: The student will assist with maintaining and updating the organization’s website, developing new features, installing and managing hardware/software, and providing technical support remotely or on-site. Duties include supporting systems like SALSA, WordPress, and Google Calendar; maintaining active domains; assisting with internal tools; creating system documentation; and training staff. Strong programming, troubleshooting, and critical thinking skills are essential to support efficient tech operations. Remote location, computer, phone, and reliable internet required.
  • Digital Media: The student will create engaging digital content to attract and retain supporters across various platforms. Tasks include managing websites, blogs, podcasts, and social media campaigns; writing press releases; and executing end-to-end digital marketing projects. The student will assist in increasing donations, enhancing brand visibility, and ensuring Scenic Texas remains current with media trends. Experience with tools like Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, and other media editing software is preferred. Remote location, computer, phone, and internet required.
  • Business Administration/Secretarial: The student will support daily operations through clerical and administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining records, filing reports, and responding to inquiries. Additional duties include drafting meeting minutes, coordinating with board members, and assisting with program needs. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong organizational and communication skills, and professionalism are essential. Remote location, computer, phone, and internet required.
  • Non-Profit Management/Leadership: The student will assist the Executive Director with planning, operations, and program management. Tasks include supporting grant writing, fundraising, policy development, board relations, and sponsorship outreach. The student will gain experience in various departments such as marketing, finance, program implementation, and leadership development. Strong initiative and the ability to work across functions are important. Remote location, computer, phone, and internet required.
  • Media & Video Production: The student will produce and edit video content that supports Scenic Texas’s mission. Responsibilities include filming, editing, capturing audio and lighting, creating motion graphics, developing storyboards, and managing the media library. The student will collaborate with Marketing/Communications and Digital Media teams on campaign content, schedule publishing, and assist with livestreams or virtual events. Skills in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar, as well as creativity and attention to detail, are key. Remote location, computer, phone, and reliable internet required.

The TAMU-CC Community Work-Study Program is a form of financial aid that provides part-time employment opportunities to eligible TAMU-CC students. This program helps students earn money to help pay for educational expenses, and it’s funded by both federal and state sources.
